Holmes Institute has campuses in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Gold Coast and Cairns
Holmes Insitute was established in 1963 as a premier business school in Melbourne, Australia. Since 1990 Holmes Institute has expanded interstate, adding campuses in Sydney, Brisbane, Gold Coast and Cairns. They have also established a campus in Hong Kong, and a working relationship with Qingdao University in China.
Whilst expanding geographically, Holmes Institute has continued to increase its course offerings. Having originated as a Secretarial College, they began teaching English in 1989. From there they expanded into Accounting, Management and Marketing, before adding Hospitality and other vocational qualifications. Then, in 2005, Holmes Institute became the first Private Education Provider to be accredited with their own Bachelor of Business.
Since then, Holmes has continued to expand its Higher Education Faculty so that as well as the English School, Certificates and Diplomas, they now offer their own Bachelor of Business, Bachelor of Professional Accounting, Master of Business Administration and Master of Professional Accounting, across the three states and in Hong Kong. The most recent addition is a Bachelor of Fashion and Business being offered in Melbourne.
Whilst Holmes Institute has remained a market leader in offering Private Higher Education, its reputation for high quality English and Vocational courses has remained. Furthermore, by offering such a wide range of courses students are given greater flexibility to move between courses and locations than almost any other provider.
Moreover, Holmes Institute has expanded over the last few years into the Holmes Group. As a group it now boasts its 5 campuses in Australia, as well as ownership of Melbourne School of Fashion, Headmasters Academy, and Oxford House College English school in England with three campuses, as well as Richmond Language Training English school in London.
Despite the growth that Holmes Institute has shown in its courses, location and educational scope, it retains its fundamental principles which are to instill rational thought, intellectual integrity and social responsibilty amongst its students.
Their crest reads 'Cum Propris Suis Alit Volat' which translated means, 'With your own wings you will fly'.
